The name pays homage to the famous “Last spike,” driven in to Canadian Pacific railway in 1885 at Craigellachie, barely 500 km from our brewery. It is a symbol of Canadian can-do-it-ness and the intrepid spirit that we believe lives in every one of us. Connecting this country from sea-to-sea by rail is the kind of bold idea that motivates us to create and to try new things every single day.

Last Spike was borne from an idea of connecting the best brewers Western Canada has to offer. More than a top-of-the-line brewery, we are a place for great brewing minds to come together to collaborate and innovate and take control of the rapidly expanding Alberta craft brewing industry.
